Lesson 6 of 6

Build a reusable workflow

A workflow includes the information you gather and the checks you run, not just the prompt.

The idea

Start with an input form or brief. Turn its answers into a prompt, review the output, and revise the failing part. Keep variable names explicit so another person can adapt the template. Save a few examples of successful and failed outputs. A change that fixes one case can break another, so rerun the same checks after revisions.

Compare two instructions

Before

A request with important details left open.

Make me a study plan.

After

An instruction with an explicit task and constraints.

Inputs: subject={subject}, topics={topics}, days={days}, minutes_per_day={minutes}. Ask for missing required inputs first. Create a revision schedule with day, topic, activity, and duration. Keep each day within the time limit. Add a self-test. Flag topics that cannot reasonably fit instead of claiming complete coverage.

Try it yourself

Use the scenario below, then compare your approach with a worked example.

Key takeaway

A reusable workflow makes its inputs, deliverable, and quality checks explicit.
